The Turin club will not have to pay a transfer fee because the Frenchman is out of contract. Furthermore, the favorable tax laws in Italy will enable them to pay a good after-tax wage at a lower cost than clubs outside of the country.
There doesn’t appear to be much serious competition for the midfielder either. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Adrien Rabiot may be on his way out of Juventus, partly to make room for Pogba, and Chelsea is a possible destination.
It has been stated yet again that Thomas Tuchel will be crucial, with the German manager having previously worked with Rabiot at PSG.
Gazzetta believes Rabiot is worth around €20-30m and that such a price tag ‘would not scare’ Chelsea, with it also explained the Juventus player could suit Premier League football.
The 27-year-old has a contract running until June 2023, and therefore Chelsea may well expect Juventus to sell for a lower price than what’s mentioned by Gazzetta, especially after claims a year ago that he could go for less.
As it stands, the Blues don’t appear to have made any effort so far.
