Chelsea attacker who returned to pre-season training early is now wanted by another Premier League club.
Callum, a Chelsea player This summer, Hudson-Odoi has been linked with a move to Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old is being eyed as the next potential addition to Newcastle’s new-look squad under new ownership, according to 90min.
Hudson-Odoi faded in the second half of the season, with the England international finishing with 28 appearances in six competitions.
Under Thomas Tuchel, he has seen his playing minutes as an attacker decrease as well, as the German has looked to maintain the attacking threat from that position.
This has also contributed to his international career stagnation, as he has not added to his three England caps since 2019. He has also considered switching allegiances to represent Ghana on the international stage.
Hudson-Odoi is wanted by Newcastle
Hudson-Odoi returned to pre-season earlier than the rest of the squad in an attempt to regain the form he displayed at the peak of his time at Stamford Bridge.
It may not be enough if a suitable offer comes in for the academy graduate, and 90min has reported that Newcastle are interested in signing him.
The Magpies have been rebuilding since their new owners took over at the beginning of the year, with smart purchases such as Bruno Guimares, Dan Burn, and Sven Botman already under their belts.
Hudson-Odoi could be reborn as a result of the move, with far more game time at St. James’ Park. Given that the players most closely associated with Chelsea are recognized wingers, opportunities may become even more scarce.
The departure would be a tragedy, as it would mark the end of a player who was poised to be one of the brightest talents to emerge from the club’s prestigious academy. Having said that, fans had hoped for far more goal contributions from him.
