Todd Boehly and his consortium have yet to be officially confirmed as the new Chelsea owners, but they have already begun speaking with the club’s players and staff.
They are aware that they will soon be in charge, and it is only a matter of final administrative details before it is officially signed off, and they have attended many recent Chelsea games. Of course, while at Stamford Bridge, they will try to speak with as many Blues players and staff as possible.
Chelsea may consider seven defensive midfielders in addition to Rice and Tchouameni.
Todd Boehly has recently spoken with Reece James, among others, in addition to Thomas Tuchel.
The outcome of these brief talks has been revealed by James, and it is all very positive for Chelsea fans going forward.
The right-back insists that nothing will change at Chelsea and that they will have a new owner who is ambitious and wants to win.
“The ambition will remain the same,” James said, according to The Daily Mail. “We’re a huge club around the world, and our goal is to win every trophy we can.”
“I spoke briefly with him [Todd Boehly].” I know he cares about the club and wants to win. We’re not just going to switch to a participating club… everyone at this club is ambitious. You’re a member of this club for a reason. The standard of the players is extremely high. We’re the ones who go out and perform on the pitch, regardless of the owner, and next season we’ll have more competitions to play in and hopefully a few more trophies under our belt.”
