Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold & Man United’s Mason Greenwood Expected To Be Included In Latest England Squad

England will get their break underway in Hungary, facing off in a World Cup qualifier at the Puskas Arena on September 2nd.

The Three Lions then return to England for their 2nd qualifier of the break, taking on Andorra on the 5th of September at Wembley before then traveling to Poland on Wednesday, September 8th, for the final game.

England head into these matches of the back of what was their best-ever showing at the European Championships, making it all the way to the final and conceding just two goals all tournament.

Gareth Southgate is yet to announce his squad for the above games, but some insight into two of the players set for a call-up has been provided by The Times.

Trent Alexander-Arnold would miss Euro 2020 after he picked up an injury vs Austria in a friendly shortly before the competition got underway.

Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood would also make the provisional squad for the Euros, but withdrew in order to recover from an underlying injury.

Now though, it appears that both players are set to be recalled, as per The Times:

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mason Greenwood are expected to be included in the England squad for the first World Cup qualifiers next month after missing out on Euro 2020.

Alexander-Arnold has had a solid 2021/22 so far, keeping two clean sheets and providing one assist in two games for Liverpool.

Greenwood, meanwhile, has netted two in two for Manchester United.
