Adrien Rabiot has been at Juventus for what feels like forever, yet according to reports, the midfielder will finally leave Turin this summer, and the France international is not short of suitors.
The latest reports claim that Chelsea is interested in the former PSG star, with the likes of Everton, Newcastle United, and Manchester United chasing Rabiot, with Tottenham also being linked with the Juventus star, who has never looked more certain to leave the club.
With a reported wage of £175,000-a-week, Rabiot will be no cheap signing this summer, yet with the midfielder open to leaving and Juventus keen to sell, a Frenchman has the chance to restart his career at a new club, especially given the number of episodes revolving around the 27-year-old over the years.
We all know what Rabiot is capable of and with the Paris-born midfielder likely to leave Juventus in the coming weeks, which clubs should actually be targeting the Serie A star this summer in the transfer window.
If there’s one manager who could get the most out of an overpaid midfielder in the prime of their careers, it’s Jose Mourinho, who this summer is looking to overhaul AS Roma’s squad following on from their success last year.
Rabiot has shown bright sparks in the Italian top-flight in Serie A, and although Roma has just signed Nemanja Matic, the Frenchman could be another solid addition for Mourinho’s side next season, especially with the midfielder being in what many expect is in the prime of his career.
The Premier League has long been reported as a potential destination for Rabiot, and it’s no real surprise that Chelsea is interested in the midfielder given that the Blues could lose the likes of Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Ross Barkley this summer.
Indeed, Rabiot could be perfect for Thomas Tuchel’s system and a breath of fresh air for the Chelsea midfield, who last season looked devoid of new ideas and were rather uninspiring for the majority of the campaign.
Another English club that has been reportedly linked to Rabiot, Everton is set for a massive summer under Frank Lampard as the former Chelsea boss looks to rebuild the Toffees back into a Premier League side with something to be hopeful of for the future.
Whilst Rabiot could end up like another big-name disappointment for Everton, the midfielder’s willingness to prove the doubters wrong could make the Frenchman a savior for the Toffees’ next season, with Lampard keen to get the club back on their feet after a disastrous 2021/22 campaign.
Many top clubs seem to be on the road to rebuilding this summer, and FC Barcelona is just one other example Xavi Hernandez has a huge job on his hand to restore the European giants back to their former glory, and Rabiot could be a potential signing.
With Frenkie De Jong set to join Manchester United, an experienced central midfielder alongside Sergio Busquets to mentor the likes of Pedri and Gavi will be invaluable to Barcelona, and Rabiot, if he can sort out his attitude, could be perfect for this job in Catalonia.
Tottenham has been one of the busiest sides in the transfer window this summer, with Antonio Conte already signing three top players that will strengthen Spurs for next season, and Rabiot could join that list in the coming weeks.
Reports suggest that Tottenham is chasing Rabiot with Conte a fan of the former PSG star, and whilst Spurs have already added Yves Bissouma to the fold, the departure of Harry Winks could force the north London side in making a move for the Frenchman to add more cover in the midfield.
