It has finally occurred. Blues fans, the UK Government has approved the Chelsea takeover sale, and Todd Boehly’s consortium can now take over the club.
At the time of writing, there had been no official announcement from the club, but all of the major UK news outlets were reporting that the sale had been approved by the government.
This is massive news for Chelsea and we can now expect the sanctions that were put upon the club under Roman Abramovich’s ownership to be lifted as soon as possible.
Yesterday the Premier League confirmed that they had approved Boehly’s consortium as the new owners and it was said then that the Government approval would soon come.
We believe that this is the final hurdle in the process and we can finally breathe a sigh of relief with this process coming to an end after a long and very drawn-out three months.
